"All of our products are made fresh and never frozen. We usually have a few whole cakes on hand for last-minute pickups, but to get a specific item we recommend always placing your order at least 3-5 days in advance.

Although the descriptions below include a number of servings, we can also prepare most cakes in larger sizes. Custom cakes are also available by pre-order. Please call us at 314-534-1699 to place your order."

Dessert List

Zuccotto

La Dolce Via's signature dessert. Brandy- and amaretto-soaked chocolate and vanilla sponges fit into a star pattern, filled with whipped cream with hazelnuts, almonds, and bittersweet chocolate flecks, and in the middle a chocolate version of the same cream. Serves 16-20. $50

Tiramisu

House-made mascarpone layered between our exclusive espresso- and rum-soaked homemade ladyfingers, topped with cocoa. Serves 12. $50

Zabione

Vanilla sponges layered with marsala-rum custard, frosted with whipped cream, toasted almonds, and bittersweet chocolate flecks. Serves 16-20. $35

Vesuvio

Rum-chocolate sponges layered with whipped cream, almonds, hazelnuts, bittersweet chocolate flecks, and a hint of candied orange peel, topped with a chocolate-espresso glaze. Serves 16-20. $45

Mascarpone Cheesecake

Extra-fluffy cheesecake made with a combination of our house-made mascarpone and cream cheese, on an exclusive biscotti crust (optional chocolate glaze, or cherry topping for $5 extra). Serves 12. $50

Cassatta

Vanilla cake spiked with Kirschwasser (cherry brandy), filled with sweet ricotta cheese with wild cherries, candied citrus peel, and chocolate chips. Serves 12. $35

Carrot Cake

Our minimalist version of the classic: carrot spice cake with cream cheese frosting. Serves 12. $35

Chocolate Mousse Torte

Our unbeatable chocolate buttermilk sponge infused with sweetened brandy and layered with a dark, rich chocolate mousse, then covered with a light, creamy chocolate mousse. Serves 12. $35

Torta di Tara

Chocolate buttermilk sponges layered with amaretto and chocolate mousse, frosted with a cinnamon-amaretto buttercream. Serves 12. $35

Coconut Cake

Unbelievably light chiffon sponges layered with coconut pastry cream, then covered with whip-ped cream and coconut. Serves 10. $35

Elizabetta

White butterless sponges infused with sweetened lemon juice, layered with a tart lemon filling, then frosted with a sweet lemon cream. Serves 10. $35

Limetta

Lime version of the Elizabetta. White butterless sponges infused with sweetened lime juice, tart lime filling, sweet lime cream frosting. Serves 10. $35

German Sweet Chocolate Cake

Chocolate buttermilk sponge with the classic coconut-pecan filling. Serves 12-14. $35

Key Lime Pie

Our spin on the classic. Not just for lime lovers, this pie will have you hooked after one bite! Topped with whipped cream. Special Order Only. Serves 10-12. $35

Chocolate Espresso Torte

Soft, almost pudding-like torte with a rich flavor of chocolate and espresso. Special Order Only. Serves 12-16. $35

Strawberry Cake Roll

Light sponge cake rolled into a tube, filled with whipped cream and strawberries. (seasonal) Serves 10-12. $35

Chocolate Almond / Gianduia

Dense chocolate and nut desserts using ground almonds or hazelnuts in place of flour, covered with chocolate glaze and almonds or hazelnuts to match the inside. Serves 10. $30

Wedding Cakes

Most of our cakes are also available in wedding sizes. Our wedding customers often choose a few different types of cake, filling, and frosting to create a cake with individual layers that pleases everyone. Custom decorations are available, but we do not work with fondant or plastic columns/cake tiers. We commonly decorate our wedding cakes with fresh flowers, provided by the wedding florist to match the table arrangements and bridal bouquet.  Made entirely within two days of the wedding, our cakes are fresh and delicious.

With few exceptions, our wedding cakes are $2/slice, which includes local delivery. Additional delivery charges may apply if the venue is not in reasonable proximity to our shop. Cake tastings can be arranged by calling Marcia at 314-534-1699.
